Beer Quarry Caves, not really caves but underground limestone quarries, date back to Roman times, with over 70 acres of tunnels, some of which are open for guided tours. The caves are a mile inland from the picturesque little Devonshire fishing village of Beer.
The famous Beer stone was used during the construction of Windsor Castle and also 24 of Britain's cathedrals.
