Beer, an unspoilt Devon fishing village just west of Seaton, was once a haven for smugglers but is now a popular holiday destination. This is the beach on a hot summer's day in August.
Nearby are Beer Quarry Caves, not really caves but underground limestone quarries dating back to Roman times with over 70 acres of tunnels, some of which are open for guided tours.
